As a Ovarian Cancer Stage 4 Survivor, i have made it my mission to create awareness for all cancers through the community group I started in 2018, Cancer Warrior Australia, whilst recovering from cancer treatment. This year, I began the "Light Up for Cancer Project", which will ask buildings and monuments, across Australia and New Zealand to light up on different World Cancer Awareness Days.
The first event will be "Light Up for Cancer - World Ovarian Cancer Day'. It will be a night of TEAL Lights honouring all women dealing with Ovarian Cancer and those women that have passed from this horrible disease.
I set myself a personal challenge to secure the support of 100 venues to light up Teal on May 8th. This challenge was met and 112 venues have joined the project with many more venues still making their decision. There will be teal lights shining across two countries in both rural and metro locations..
If you would like to join the project and would like to light up teal on May 8th please contact me at email@example.com. You will be welcomed as a supporter of the "Light Up for Cancer - World Ovarian Cancer Day Project". For buildings that do not have the capacity to light up teal and would like to be a part of this beauTEALful night, we ask you to create awareness on May 8th through your social media channels using the marketing material we have available. Contact Cancer Warrior Australia today.
Currently there are only 3 Ovarian Cancer Care Nurses to help the 8000 women dealing with Ovarian Cancer.
Can you help Cancer Warrior Australia fund more nurses?
Keep checking back as we will update our supporting venues regularly and a full, printable list will be added closer to World Ovarian Cancer Day on May 8th 2020.
